Evaluation System

The School follows a system of Comprehensive Continuous Assessment.This Evaluation System leaves the parent and the child completely out of stress and enables him/her to learn skills with ease.

PRE-NURSERY/NURSERY/PREPARATORY

Teachers would observe the children individually as well as in a group and there would be no scheduled oral and written tests.The criterion for the observation is as follows:

Pre-Nursery

Childrenwillbe observed everyday to assess their:

  • LanguageSkills (Listening&Speaking )
  • CognitiveSkills
  • Thinking and ReasoningSkills
  • SocialSkills- Caring,Sharingand Empathisingwith others
  • MotorSkills- Gross Fine
  • Co-curricularActivities

Nursery Preparatory

Children will be observed everyday to assess their:

  • Listening and Speaking Skills
  • Reading Writing Skills
  • Number Reasoning Skills
  • General Awareness
  • Interestin Co-curricular Activities i.e. Art Craft, Recitation, Games Swimming
  1. On the basis of the observation,the child would be marked as either ALWAYS/ OCCASIONALLY/ SOMETIMES in the above mentioned areas.
  2. The overall performanceof the child will be intimated through the Progress Profile.

CLASSES I TO V Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

1.At this stage, the student will be judged on a purely qualitative basis taking into consideration the observation of the child's activities in various domains on a daily basis. Apart from academic excellence,health and physical development of the child will also be monitored.It will be done in absolute informalsituation making itmore flexible.
2. A child is observed on his/her concept clarity, problem solving and thinking skills based on Class Work / Written Assignments / day-to-day Classroom interaction / Behaviour I Conversation / Co-curricular activities.
3. The progressof a child will be charted in three stages in an Academic Session:
First Stage- April to July
Second Stage- August to November
Third Stage- December to March
4. As per the CBSE,the Assessment will be graded on the basis of a five point grading scale.

5. A Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation will be conducted for the children of Classes I to V in two forms- WrittenAssignments and Skill BasedAssignments.

EVALUATION SYSTEM/PROCEDURE

CLASSES VI,VIIVIII

1. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation:

CCE will be conducted in two terms in the form of Formative Assessment spread throughout the session Summative Assessment - I and Summative Assessment - II will be conducted in the month of september and February - March respectively.

Syllabus for the Summative Assessement - I andSummative Assessement - II will be intimated through a notice.

2. In compliance with Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation Policy at Secondary Level as recommended by CBSE and National Curriculum Framework 2005, Oral Test, Assignment, Quiz, Projects, Chapter Reviews, Notebook Submission and other methods will be an integral part of formative assessement at this stage.

3. Promotion:

Promotion to the next class is granted to the pupil on the basis of his/ her subjectwise performance during the current session. Hence regularity in work and attendance is imperative.

Classes IX To X

1. Periodic Test(PT)

The school will conduct three Periodic tests(written) in course of one academic year:

  • Average of Best Two PTS(10 marks) For the purpose of compilation of results at the end of the
    academic session, the average of best two of three tests would be taken to aggregate 10 per cent of the
    total annual academic achievement.
  • Notebook submission and Subject Enrichment activities are integral parts of internal assessment
    carrying 5 marks weightage each.

2. Annual examination(80 marks)

Annual Examination conducted in each subject at the end of the academic year shall carry a weightage of 80 marks.
The total score in each subject, on 100 will be the sum of all the components mentioned above.

Co-Scholastic areas(Activities)

  • Activities categorized under work education, health and Physical Education shall be graded on a 5-point
    grading scale(A to E).
  • Discipline(Attendance, sincerity, Behaviour, values) to be graded on 5-point grading scale(A to E)
